Our Programs
The programs of Catholic Charities focus on empowerment and seek to enact long-term, positive change in individuals, families and communities. As a nonprofit, public benefit corporation, the agency is built on the principles of dignity and inclusion, providing services irrespective of race, ethnicity, gender or religious belief.
Programs address human suffering and larger social issues, such as poverty, hunger and nutrition, homelessness, immigration, health care, mental health and illiteracy.
Our Location
Catholic Charities operates programs in a geographical area that covers over 8,500 square miles and encompasses Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. To ensure maximum service delivery in areas of the highest need, the agency is divided into five Regions: Our Lady of the Angels (Metro and Western areas); San Fernando; San Gabriel; San Pedro; and Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties). This Regional structure supports the agency in improving the lives of a tremendous number of people while keeping administrative and overhead costs to a minimum.
