New House Santa Barbara

New House Santa Barbara
New House dedicates itself to providing a clean and sober, healthy environment that allows men with alcohol and other drug problems to begin their journey of recovery and to reclaim their dignity, self-esteem, and sense of purpose.

Our Primary Purpose

New House dedicates itself to providing a clean and sober, healthy environment that allows 95 men with alcohol and other drug problems to begin their journey of recovery and to reclaim their dignity, self-esteem, and sense of purpose.

The experience of New House is that successful sobriety is achieved through the support of others in recovery. New House is therefore staffed entirely by residents, regular meetings are offered on-site by community 12-Step groups, and 12-Step sponsorship is strongly encouraged.

While no treatment services are provided, many men participate in outside treatment programs while living at New House. New House encourages full outside employment as soon as possible for those entering the program. The program provides three nutritious meals daily and sanitary, personal living quarters. Residents share the responsibility of housekeeping duties.

There are no restrictions on length of stay at New House II or III, but many of the most successful New House graduates remain in residence a year or longer. Men who achieve 6 months of successful sobriety are eligible to apply for admission to the Grad House, which offers increased independence in preparation for reentering the community.
