Jodi House Brain Injury Support Center
OUR MISSION
Jodi House empowers brain injury survivors to not merely survive, but thrive.
Who We Serve
Jodi House serves adults with traumatic or acquired brain injuries, their families, caregivers, friends, volunteers, and the community at large.
OVERVIEW
What We Offer
Our Brain Injury Support program is designed to assist the brain injury survivor in successfully returning to his or her community at the highest possible level of functioning, while also providing information and referral services. Our program is comprised of the following three elements:
Community Integration Services
Community reintegration and the feeling of belonging are at the core of Jodi House's philosophy for improving quality of life. Our program aims to encourage the physical, cognitive, and social rehabilitation and independent living skills necessary for a better quality of life. Jodi House has established and maintains close working relationships with distinguished universities and research institutions in order to provide the most cutting-edge evidence-based strategies for our programs.
Supported Living Services
Jodi House collaborates with the survivor and caregiver to provide a pro-active model for success in their daily lives. At the time of enrollment, staff works with each new member and caregiver to develop an individual service plan. Home visits are scheduled to provide input on what (if any) specific assistance is needed in the home.
Vocational Supported Services
Jodi House has created a unique program (VSS) in tandem with the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). Members learn the skills necessary to gain meaningful employment or volunteer positions. This program is the first of its kind in California, and Jodi House is proud to be a leader in the effort to gainfully re-employ brain injury survivors in their community.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM JODI HOUSE?
- survivors of traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- survivors of strokes, aneurysms, and tumors
We are dedicated to the memory of Jodi Wustman and to all those who experience similar challenges as a result of acquired brain injury. There is no other organization like it in Santa Barbara County.
